About the choir

The Choir was formed in 1988 by Pam Cunningham and under her direction the choir grew from eight original members to the present sixty. All who knew Pam had their lives touched by her love of music, and were deeply saddened by her death. Pam’s ability to impart feeling and emotion into the songs that the Valentines sing made them into the choir that they are today. Her legacy has been continued and enhanced by Jane Richardson since she took over as Musical Director ably assisted by their talented accompanist and arranger Morfudd Sinclair.

The choir loves to travel, and each year they go on a five day Concert Tour visiting towns and cities throughout the UK, linking with local choirs which produce ongoing return visits. European tours have included Holland and Germany.

The Kidderminster Valentines have had the great honour and pleasure of singing in York Minster, Salisbury Cathedral and both Liverpool Cathedrals and have on a number of occasions joined other selected choirs to sing at the Royal Albert Hall at the invitation of Cancer Research UK and have enjoyed evenings of wonderful singing whilst raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for Cancer Research UK.
