Singing together since 1988
Kidderminster Valentines celebrate their Thirty-Sixth Anniversary in 2024 and number over fifty voices.
The choir’s repertoire is varied and wide ranging and while the vocal and technical skills of its members are constantly developing, the music is drawn from many areas and styles, from Beethoven to ladies barbershop, from Mozart to Musicals. This is one of the main reasons for the choir’s popularity at events ranging from their own concerts to events including weddings, church functions, seasonal celebrations and joint concerts with other choirs and artists.
The Valentines’ sound differs from that of other female voice choirs, the emphasis being on consistently rich, full bodied mellow four part harmonies produced by voices covering a wide age range.
The choir is immensely proud to have Sir Tim Rice and the broadcaster Peter Tomlinson as patrons of the choir.
